Mack Attack
With Mack South Africa becoming a wholly owned independent distributor of the famous American Bulldog, the platform has been set for a new era for this company. After making a comeback to SA some three years ago, Managing Director of Mack South Africa, Pierre Sanson made the move to become an independent distributor in order to maximise the companies potential in SA and meet their customers exacting demands.

Mack® RD Series
From their now expanded headquarters in Edenvale, Mack SA directs operations in Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana. In each case some significant deals have been concluded especially in the mining industries, where Mack Truck's come into their own. This is especially so for the flagship Mack model in Africa, the Mack Titan. Titan by name and titan by nature, this truck is dimensionally speaking, huge. It's extra heavy duty application is well suited to tough African condition's, especially seeing that its rugged chassis is fitted with a 620 horse power Cummins engine, and a choice of either two or three drive axles and a cab offering superb visibility.
Mack Trucks concentrates on supplying two main transport industries with their vehicles, those being Long Haul, which the Mack Qantum and Mack CH Series Value-Liner and Fleet-Liner services and Heavy Duty, with which the Mack RD Series and Mack Titan will cover the area's of mining, forestry, timber and construction.

Mack® Quantum
During the course of 2003 Mack South Africa will launch some exciting new products, including the Mack Granite, which is the replacement model for perhaps the most famous Mack Truck of all the RD Series. When this model is launched, all Mack Trucks that come to SA will be sourced from Australia which manufacturers the world's right hand drive Mack trucks under licence from its American parent company. With distribution and service points now at unprecedented levels, and a multi-million Rand parts stock holding, Mack is well positioned to service operators who choose their products anywhere in Southern Africa.
With operations in North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, Mack is a globally dominate force in the trucking industry, and producing in excess of 40 000 vehicles a year and selling over 2 500 units a month in North America
alone, it is no wonder that this brand has become a legend in its own right.
