FREIGHLINER DIVISION
at DaimlerChrysler South
Africa has upgraded its model range in South Africa by upgrading
the popular Freightliner Argosy to better suit customer
requirements.
The
Freightliner/FUSO division represents the Freightliner Corporation
and Mitsubishi FUSO Truck and Bus Corporation in South Africa.
Freightliner is a 100% owned subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG with

"Freightliner
has truly shown itself to be the long haul truck of choice. In
fact, the sales for the Argosy have doubled during 2004 and we
will continue to build on this solid foundation to do even better
than that!"
"Our aim with
the Freightliner Argosy is to be on the forefront of customization
and technology and to bring those suitable technologies to the
South African market, Cloete said. Examples of this is that
Freightliner offers a full range of custom-built cabs, state of
the art electronic engines from the three leading manufactures
Cummins, Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel, coupled to the Smart
Shift Eaton transmission which is being introducing as a standard
feature across the range with immediate effect, together with a
whole host of other innovations all which were introduced to
Freightliner during the past 12 months, aiming to improve
operating conditions for customers.
