NISSAN DIESEL SOUTH AFRICA
BUILDING A FUTURE ON A
PROUD HERITAGE

With more than four decades of expertise in the South African truck market, Nissan Diesel is ready to enter a new era in 2007.

Through the building of a solid foundation around our proven and durable range of trucks, a team of the best skills in the industry, a well-trained and established dealer network, and dedicated local and international product support – Nissan Diesel is set for the future.

Although Nissan Diesel remains on the forefront of truck technology in the world, the company believes in remaining relevant to the local industry and their customers’ requirements.

Global Vision, Locally Applicable

Since the founding of the Nissan Diesel Motor Company on the outskirts of Tokyo, Japan in 1935, the company has continuously endeavoured to build and maintain a reputation for innovation and excellence.

This dedication has led to numerous technological breakthroughs that not only meet the needs of the region’s changing transportation environment, but has inspired a succession of advanced vehicles for an array of industries in more than 130 countries across the world.

Over the years, Nissan Diesel South Africa has built a strong reputation as a credible and successful truck supplier, boasting unequalled flexibility and full backing from Nissan Diesel Japan. The company’s local assembly and engineering strategies enables Nissan Diesel to develop innovative products for the South African market and its unique conditions.

Proud History

In those early years, the first Nissan Diesel trucks arrived in South Africa initially as completely-built-up (CBU) all fitted with unilflow scavenging, two cycle diesel engines, then later as semi-knockdown (SKD).

These days you’ll find some of the latest technology fitted to the company’s flagship the UD440, such as the high fuel efficient GE13 engine series. The UD400 model includes the semi automated Escot IV transmission, whilst providing appropriate level of technology throughout the rest of our range.

When Only the Best is Good Enough

In 2002, Nissan Diesel South Africa became a fully-fledged subsidiary of the Japanese parent company, and as such remains committed to maintaining and expanding this proud heritage through its capacity to serve the local truck market on every level.

Nissan Diesel South Africa’s commitment remains to specialise in and grow its local market share, while remaining one of Nissan Diesel Motor Corporation’s largest export hubs outside Japan. Little wonder that South Africa is Nissan Diesel Japan’s top export market, ahead of the likes of the United States, Australia and China.

By supporting our vision of adopting a Nissan Diesel for life, we have developed world-class service standards, thereby, ensuring the most economical lifecycle costs for our customers.

Solid Future

Nissan Diesel South Africa’s product planning philosophy is an evolutionary approach rather than revolutionary, which means that only fully tested appropriate products will be introduced.

The company is committed to providing the best possible solutions for South African businesses. Focussing on real added value by ensuring the lowest optimum lifecycle costs, customers can expect to take their business to the highest levels of productivity and profit.

Ensuring that customers have the best service, support and products, Nissan Diesel understands what it takes to make customers’ operations successful. At Nissan Diesel, we have experienced people that know the truck business, resulting in a company that is commited to our customer’s success.
