Mounted Forklift Trucks

  • The actual unladen mass of the vehicle must be determined by physically weighing the artic on a massmeter. The mass of the forklift is not included.

  • The Moffett must be regarded as part of the payload and not part of the mass of the vehicle.

  • The overall length of the truck plus Moffett must not exceed 12.5 metres on a 6x4 vehicle and must not exceed 18.5 on an articulated vehicle.

  • The massload on the rear axle, when loaded with the Moffett and the maximum payload, must not exceed the AU-Rear of the truck on a 6x4 vehicle with a M1 Moffett mounted.

  • The total of the unladen mass plus the payload (which includes the loaded Moffett) must not exceed the maximum permissible combination mass as determined in terms of Road Traffic Regulations 237, 239 and 241 on an articulated vehicle with M3, M5 & M8 Moffetts mounted.
