MOEGOE
OF THE MONTH
In line with
FleetWatch's intention to declare war on accidents, we are starting a
'Moegoe of the Month' competition whereby readers are invited to send in photographs of trucks they spot on the road that would qualify for this 'esteemed' award. We're looking for photographs of trucks and truckers who admirably show us exactly what should not be done in terms of safe and professional operations.
The first entry has been submitted by Steven Norris of Bridgestone who, while driving in Edenvale with his colleague Marcus Haw, spotted this 'beaut'. How long and from where it had been driving in this state is anyone's guess but the fact that it was operating on the road in this highly unroadworthy and dangerous state makes the owner and driver of this rig a worthy winner of the first
'Moegoe of the Month' award. It also wins Steven Norris a bottle of
FleetWatch's finest 'Château Collapso' which will be delivered to him shortly.
To enter the competition is easy. Just snap off a pic of the truck/rig you deem to be a worthy winner - but please let your passenger take the snap or preferably stop in a safe place ahead and snap it as the truck comes past. Remember to always apply safe driving habits.
The next step is to email the photograph/s (minimum 350kB size) to fleetwatch@pixie.co.za
with the location and any comment you wish to make that will enhance the photograph. It's that easy to win a bottle of the finest hooch while at the same time, highlight the miscreants who are operating out on our roads. And it doesn't have to be only horror stuff such as depicted in our first entry here. In fact, it will be interesting to see at what level readers start feeling concerned about the state of vehicles out there.
So get your cameras out and start snapping. I promise you won't be bereft of good photographic material out there.
