WAS THE chosen
exclusive tyre supplier for the Renault Trucks Cape to Cape
expedition. This is the second time that the two companies
have partnered in an adventure of this type, following their
joint participation in the 2005 Silk Road expedition.
Michelin provided Renault
Trucks with tyres in its all-terrain XZL range, which are
designed to deliver excellent traction on soft ground, such as
mud or sand. In addition to their off-road capabilities, the
tyres also perform well in highway use.
Michelin claim
the tyres have a minimal impact on the natural areas crossed
by the Cape to Cape caravan, thanks to a casing that enables
the tyre to operate at low pressure, thereby reducing soil
compaction.
The Michelin XZL
tyres fitted to the 12 Renault vehicles were standard
production models.
