A strong foothold in
the Cape

Opening its doors for business in July 2001, Spartan Truck Hire Cape started in the company's tradition of independent survival as a small business that grows into a big operation, and it's done just that.

From temporary premises, 12 trucks and a small client base, Spartan Truck Hire Cape now operates with over 100 vehicles, having quadrupled their turnover figures in just two years. Spartan Cape has also acquired its own centrally located property in Paarden Eiland and is in the process of building offices with a spectacular view of Table Bay.

Manning the fort...

Lavonne Kinnear (Sales Manager) and Karen Guild (Branch Manager)

Everyone in truck hire is in the Cape so how could Spartan Truck Hire, which only entered the Western Cape market in 2001, make such a dent in a competitive market?

It's clearly the Spartan empowerment formula summed up in this comment from Cape branch manager, Karen Guild: "Spartan Truck Hire Cape Town is proud to say that we make our own decisions that include staff hiring, pricing, quoting, advertising, entertaining and selecting vehicle configurations to suit the local market. We operate independently and our CEO, Arnold Friedman, regularly visits the Cape branch and always returns to Johannesburg smiling."

The Cape branch truck fleet operates with full backup so where clients require a specific vehicle not in the Cape fleet, this is sourced from Spartan's head office operation. The Cape fleet also specialises in dangerous goods transport and a number of vehicles and drivers comply with dangerous goods transport requirements.

Spartan Truck Hire Cape offers the full range of transport services beyond casual - or short-term - vehicle hire. It's a people business that Western Cape clients obviously appreciate. And so too does Spartan appreciate those clients, summed up in the words of sales manager, Lavonne Kinnear: "A huge thank you to all our clients that have made our success possible. We are not going to stop here!"

"We are entering a logistical era, where we take over and look after a customer’s supply chain - not just his road transport needs."
