Meet our partners - Stalcor
Building freight-carrying vehicles using aluminium is a highly specialised business demanding high levels of design and fabrication skills. Commercial transport is ultimately about streamlining efficiencies, optimising payload and keeping running costs as low as possible. Aluminium has been helping truck transporters for years in this regard because it is light in weight, does not corrode and needs no paint to keep it looking good year after year.
Supply meets demand
The growing trend among local trailer builders to use aluminium in their vehicle designs has been made possible because there are a number of world class stockists, distributors and processors of aluminium in South Africa. Staicor is one such company, providing service excellence through a customer driven, market focused network of branches, which are operated by an experienced workforce. Stalcor presently services more than 4000 customers drawn from all economic sectors, in particular the manufacturing, engineering, mining and construction industries.
Established in 1973, Stalcor, together with its 100°!° owned subsidiary Bryco (Pty) Ltd, form part of Kulungile Metals (Pty) Limited, South Africa's first significantly black-empowered steel group.
Customised aluminium solutions
Stalcor and the Kulungile Group have been supplying the transport industry with a variety of metals since 1974. Offering value-added services like metal cutting to customer specifications, the group is well positioned to meet the demands of the transport industry. "The quest for extra payload has always been a profit driver in the trucking industry and as a result, we foresee the demand for aluminium increasing in the foreseeable future," says Stalcar's Graham Donald.
