Constellations
for FlexiFleet

In a deal worth R3.8-million, ten VW Constellation 15.180 trucks were handed over at the beginning of March to Imperial FlexiFleet Manufacturing in Heilbron. John Loxton, MD of FlexiFleet, took delivery of the vehicles from Cornel Oelofse, GM of Lindsay Saker Midrand Commercial.

"This is a significant deal for the Volkswagen Constellation truck brand and we are privileged to have partnered in business with Imperial FlexiFleet," says Jaco Steenekamp, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles national sales manager.

The sound reputation of the Constellation brand abroad made it a fairly easy decision for FlexiFleet to acquire their initial 10 vehicles. "I've had the privilege of seeing Volkswagen Constellation trucks in action on a visit to Brazil. Little did I realise at the time, that Volkswagen Commercial vehicles were the second best selling brand in that country," says Loxton.

"We have found Volkswagen to appreciate and understand the "partnership philosophy" and they have made their intentions clear to support the business objectives of FlexiFleet by means of operational support as well as a reciprocal business relationship," said Mr Loxton.
The trucks are fitted with refrigerated bodies supplied by FlexiFleet Manufacturing in Heilbron and will be utilized in the FlexiRent short-term rental fleet.
"All indications are that we are to enjoy low operational costs as well as the support from dedicated teams at Lindsay Saker and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. A combination that only bodes well for our future business relationship," says Loxton.
