An Introduction to FleetWatch ... Operating under a banner of independent and objective journalism, FleetWatch was voted by the Specialist Press Association as South Africa's Best Transport magazine six years in a row - 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. The magazine has won 45 awards for publishing and journalistic excellence since its launch in 1993 - the most ever won by any magazine in the history of the Specialist Press Association. As South Africa's leading transport magazine (established by independent research), FleetWatch focuses on what was probably the most underrated yet strategically vital sector of the economy - the trucking industry. Since its inception some three years ago, the magazine has strived to elevate the transport industry onto a platform of high priority in the context of the South African economy. FleetWatch has made a point of getting involved in every aspect of the trucking industry by tackling issues previously ignored and yet which have a high impact not only on the profitibility and smooth running of transport operations, but on the viability of the industry and economy as a whole. Hijacking, insurance, driver hours, driver health, driver training and finance are but a few of the many issues we have delved into for the benefit of our readers. The thrust of our magazine is toward people and issues, dangers and events that affect the thousands of people who make up the trucking industry. Our staff pride themselves on their approach to fair, two-sided, unbiased and specialised reporting. |
