Western Cape Abnormal Loads The table below which provides details of the restrictions on the conveyance of abnormal loads and movement of abnormal vehicles during 2010/2011, was issued by the Department of Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape. It has been distributed to transport consultants, hauliers, provincial permit offices in South Africa as well as managers of Provincial traffic centres in the Western cape. Under normal circumstances and in the interests of road safety, an embargo is in place for the conveyance of abnormal vehicles on public roads during weekends and public holidays. The exception in 2010 is that the embargo has been extended to cover the period of the 2010 soccer world cup. kends Public Holidays
