Diabetes
- The Deadly Dangers of Diabetes
What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a condition that occurs when the body produces either
too little insulin, or the insulin does not work properly, increasing
the sugar level in the blood. This high blood sugar level, if left
untreated, can cause irreversible damage and ultimately lead to
death.
There are Two Main Types of
Diabetes :
Type 1 - Insulin dependant diabetes: A person who has no insulin
in their body and has to rely on regular insulin injections.
Type 2 - Non-insulin
dependent diabetes: A person who has sufficient insulin and has
to follow a special diet or take tablets to control sugar levels.
