A recent study conducted by general practitioner and senior aviation medical examiner Dr Francois Swanepoel, determined that out of 580 professional drivers 57 had unacceptable visual ability, and 16 were declared permanently unfit to drive - have you had your eyes tested recently?

Factors Contributing to Poor Eyesight

  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Overactive thyroid function
  • Ear infections and sinus
  • Glaucoma - increased pressure inside the eye
  • Cataracts

Symptoms of Deteriorating Eyesight

  • Blurred vision
  • Delays in focussing, for example looking at something close by and then looking at something far away.
  • Constant headaches or migraines
  • Dizziness
  • Sore, burning or red eyes.
